Bruins Defeat Alumni in Three Games

Klosterman and Scott combine for 19 kills.

The second-ranked UCLA men's volleyball team defeated the UCLA Alumni 3-0 Friday night in Pauley Pavilion.

The Bruin varsity won 30-12, 30-23, 30-26 in 72 minutes in front of a partisan alumni crowd of 327.

Freshman Steve Klosterman led the Bruins with 10 kills (.353) and red-shirt freshman Damien Scott added nine kills (.375) as the Bruins played all 14 players and hit .432 for the match. The varsity also served nine aces, including three by senior Marcin Jagoda and two by junior Kris Kraushaar.

Former player of the year Brandon Taliaferro and Andor Guylai led the Alumni with eight kills each, and four-time All-American Paul Nihipali added six kills.

Next week the Bruins will travel to Hawaii for a two match conference series with the top-ranked Warriors
