During the 2004 season, Stebbins coached sophomore Paige Thompson to an automatic berth to the NCAA Championships, where she finished 31st (3-meter) and 33rd (1-meter) respectively. Each of his divers finished in the top-16 at the Pac-10 Championships, helping the Bruins to a second place conference finish. In the summer of 2004, Stebbins coached Paige Thompson to a sixth place finish at the US Senior National Championships, earning her a spot on the Senior National Diving Team. He also coached Amanda Blong and Janine Strack to a sixth place finish on the synchronized three-meter springboard at the Senior National Championships.

At the 2003 Summer Nationals, three of Stebbins' divers found success. Gosnell placed seventh on the platform. Janine Strack competed on platform, where she placed 28th. And, Paige Thompson qualified for her first Senior Nationals, where she advanced to the three-meter semifinals, placing 16th, and finished 15th in the one-meter quarterfinals.

Stebbins' fifth season guiding the Bruins was very successful. For the second consecutive year, all of his divers qualified for the NCAA Zone Championships. At the Zone Championships, senior Regan Gosnell placed fourth on the one-meter, fifth on three-meter and seventh on platform, qualifying for the NCAA Championships in all three events. At the NCAA Championships, Gosnell became the first All-American diver coached by Stebbins, earning All-America recognition on platform (eighth) and three-meter (15th).

In his fourth campaign, all of Stebbins' divers qualified for the NCAA Zone Championships. It was the first time during his tenure that this had occurred. At the Zone Championships, Heidi Prosser qualified for the NCAA Championships, where she placed 21st on three-meter.

During his third season at UCLA, Stebbins helped coach the Bruins to the Pac-10 Championship. He guided senior Anne Baghramian to the NCAA Championships and a fourth-place finish on three-meter at the NCAA Zone E meet. Stebbins also coached Heidi Prosser and Regan Gosnell to the Senior National meet in the summer of 2001, where Gosnell finished in 12th place on the 10-meter platform.

Stebbins' sophomore campaign was just as successful. He guided Regan Gosnell to her third and fourth consecutive Senior National meet and her first Senior National semifinal. Similiar to his first year, his recruiting class was exceptional including the addition of one newcomer who finaled at the Junior Nationals and qualified for the Senior Nationals, as well as a Junior Zone qualifier. In his first season at UCLA, he guided sophomore Anne Baghramian to the 1999 NCAA Championships and a third-place showing on the one-meter at the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships. That summer, Stebbins helped Baghramian to a fourth-place finish at the U.S. Senior Zone D meet, which qualified her for her first U.S. Senior Nationals on three-meter. His first recruiting class included two Senior Nationals qualifiers and three Junior Nationals qualifiers, two of whom were finalists.

At the helm at Fordham, Stebbins coached two-time senior national qualifier Paul Delo, who won two Atlantic-10 titles each on the one-meter and three-meter. Stebbins also helped coach Delo to an undefeated record in the 1996-97 season.

Stebbins was a four year letterwinner at Yale University and a three-time NCAA Zone qualifier. He holds the one-meter and three-meter records at Yale and is a four-time All-Ivy League selection. While diving at Yale, Stebbins was awarded the Heaton High Point Award and the Phil Moriarty Prize for MVP honors in 1996. He helped lead his team to the 1993 Co-Ivy League Championship title. Stebbins graduated from Yale in 1996 with a degree in Psychology. A native of Connecticut, Stebbins now resides in Westwood.
